The love of gardening is a seed once sown that never dies, but never grows to the enduring happiness that the love of gardening gives.
– Gertrude Jekyll
Believe it or not, I never had a vegetable garden. The vegetable garden has played a large part in my joy this summer. There is something deeply satisfying about preparing the beds, choosing plants, carefully tending to them and seeing your labor come into fruition, coming to the final farm-to-table product. I love sharing vegetables and herbs with my friends and neighbors. AND, the chickens are loving the fresh food this summer. The 2020 garden will be expanded with more herbs and the addition of jalapeno peppers, tomatoes and cucumbers.
