Geese are friends to no one, they bad mouth everybody and everything. But they are companionable once you get used to their ingratitude and false accusations.

My granddaughter, Zia, named the three African geese Olaf, Anna and Elsa (guess where THAT came from).  Anna turned into Alexander and is now affectionately called Xander the Gander.  They are big, beautiful birds, the most docile of the goose breeds.  Olaf is a bit of a jerk sometimes, but tends to fall in love with my girl friends and follows them around like a love-sick junior high school boy.  Elsa lays huge eggs that are absolutely delicious in omelets and frittatas.  I am hoping for some fertilized eggs this year and goslings.
